PTFE is a thermoplastic polymer, which is a white solid at room temperature, with a density of about 2200 kg/m3. According to DuPont, its melting point is 600 K (327 °C; 620 °F). It maintains high strength, toughness and self-lubrication at low temperatures down to 5 K (−268.15 °C; −450.67 °F), and good flexibility at temperatures above 194 K (−79 °C; −110 °F). PTFE gains its properties from the aggregate effect of carbon-fluorine bonds, as do all fluorocarbons. The only chemicals known to affect these carbon-fluorine bonds are highly reactive metals like the alkali metals, and at higher temperatures also such metals as aluminium and magnesium, and fluorinating agents such as xenon difluoride and cobalt(III) fluoride.

The anti-static PTFE liner is fully resistant to fuel vapor penetration. Unique semi-corrugated liner design is much more flexible than other types of hose, but the smooth bore retains optimum flow. The hose ends require no special tooling to assemble, so you can build hoses at the track. Stainless steel outer braid has a copper-colored strand for easy identification (except on -4 size). Virtually total chemical resistance at temperatures up to 260 C. mean that tubing can handle the transport of all fluid chemicals and solvents, as small sizes such as in automatic laboratory analysis equipment to 1000mm diameter linings in process plant. Tubing can also be used to protect less resistant materials such as glass or stainless steel on stirrers, thermometer probes and vat heaters.

The combination of low friction and temperature resistance allows fluoroplastic tubing to be used in applications such as sleeve bearings, push-pull cables, non-stickroller covering etc.

PTFE Film is 0.002 thick, relatively rugged, but much more easily torn than our 0.005" PTFE..  It's Teflon, so of course it has great temperature and chemical properties; this is great for lots of places in the shop or factory, but also kitchen, sewing, garage.  At well under $2/sf it's disposable after it's served its purpose, whether in a curing oven, heat transfer, lamination or for drying painted/glued items.

PTFE Lined Stainless Steel Braided Racing Hose

This new hose was developed with professional racing teams who needed a super-flexible fuel hose with excellent flow that wouldn't collapse under vacuum.

The anti-static PTFE lined is compatible with all types of racing fluids (coolant, oil, brake fluid) and ALL types of fuel (gasoline, diesel, E85, alcohol, and nitromethane). It is fully resistant to fuel vapor penetration. Unique semi-corrugated liner design is much more flexible than other types of hose, but the smooth bore retains optimum flow. The hose ends require no special tooling to assemble, so you can build hoses at the track. Stainless steel outer braid has a copper-colored strand for easy identification (except on -4 size). All sizes are rated to 30 in-Hg vacuum service up to 130°C (266°F). Temperature range -70°C to 260°C (-90°F to 500°F).

Please Note: Due to manufacturing limitations, the PTFE liner is not one continuous extrusion, as on other hoses. The liner consists of shorter lengths (approximately 20-30 feet long, depending on the hose size) which are spliced together to allow the outer braid to be produced. These spliced areas are visibly necked-down and marked to be easy to spot. Splices must not be used in hoses! Orders for less than 20 feet will not contain a splice. If you are ordering more than 20 feet of hose, please let us know the minimum uncut lengths that you require.
